Stress Shopping
View on Google MapsWhen we walked into the shop it seemed fine. The aisles are tight but it was almost empty. A few more people walked in behind us. By the time we were going to pay there were too many people to keep 2 metres apart. Then a kid came in, bouncing around the place, jumped in front of me in the queue. Waaaay too close. Trying to get coins changed into a 20 note. He harassed the man behind the counter and the manager. He didn’t have enough money to make the note and was trying to pull a fast one.
And ordinarily none of this would have bothered me and I would have laughed at the shamelessness. But because he wouldn’t stay back, or be still, and because the shop was too full, it was anxiety inducing. And I felt silly because nothing really happened, but also, stressed. And I will try and avoid that shop until this is over.
